Frequently asked questions

Will resizing my image reduce its quality?
Shrinking an image (making it smaller) rarely causes any visible quality loss. Enlarging an image beyond its original size can make it look soft or blurry, since the tool scales existing pixels rather than inventing new detail — this is normal for any resizer and not specific to this tool.
Can I resize by percentage instead of exact pixels?
Yes. Switch to "Percentage" mode and enter a single value, like 50 for half size or 200 for double size, and both dimensions scale together based on the original image.
Does this upload my image anywhere?
No. The image is loaded and resized entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. It's never sent to a server.
Can I resize without keeping the same aspect ratio?
Yes, in Pixels mode you can uncheck "Lock aspect ratio" and set width and height independently, which will stretch or squash the image. Percentage mode always keeps the original proportions.
