Agreement to these terms

By using Widget.tools (this website), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. We may update these terms as the site changes — see "Changes to these terms" below.

What this site is

Widget.tools provides free, browser-based tools for working with images, PDFs, text, and code — converters, formatters, generators, and similar utilities. As described in our Privacy Policy, almost every tool runs entirely inside your own browser rather than on a server. The site is provided free of charge, with no account, sign-up, or payment required for any tool currently offered.

Your files and content

You retain full ownership of, and all rights to, any file, text, or other content you process using a tool on this site. Since nearly every tool processes your content locally in your own browser rather than on our servers, we generally never receive, see, or store it in the first place, and we make no claim to any ownership or license over it. You're solely responsible for making sure you have the right to use, edit, or convert whatever content you feed into a tool — for example, only using the Watermark Remover on images you own or otherwise have permission to edit.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use this site to:

• Violate any applicable law, or the rights of any third party (including copyright, trademark, or privacy rights)
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or attack this site or its hosting infrastructure
• Attempt to bypass, probe, or circumvent any security measure on this site
• Use an automated tool to scrape or excessively request pages in a way that degrades the service for other users
• Misrepresent the origin of a signed, converted, or generated file produced by a tool here as something it isn't (for example, presenting a visual PDF signature — see below — as a certified digital signature)

We reserve the right to restrict or block access from any user or IP address we reasonably believe is violating these terms.

Intellectual property

The site's own design, branding, original written content, and the code that implements each tool's interface and logic are owned by Widget.tools or used under an open-source license that permits this use. A few tools rely on open-source libraries (Mozilla's PDF.js, pdf-lib, and libheif-js) under their respective MIT/Apache-2.0/LGPL-3.0 licenses; using this site does not grant you any rights to those underlying libraries beyond what their own licenses already provide.

You may not copy, redistribute, or create a derivative site substantially reproducing this site's own design or written content without permission. Nothing here restricts what you do with your own output files (see "Your files and content" above).

No warranty

This site and every tool on it are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. In plain terms:

• We don't guarantee any tool's output is error-free, complete, or fit for every use case — several tools state their own specific, known limitations directly on their page, and those apply here too.
• A signature placed with the Sign PDF tool is a visual signature, not a certified digital/PKI signature, and should not be treated as legally equivalent to one without checking your own requirements.
• Cryptographic hash "reverse lookup" features only check a hash against a bundled list of common words — a successful match means the original text was common, not that the hash has been mathematically decrypted, which is not possible.
• We don't guarantee this site will be available at all times, free of interruptions, or free of bugs.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Widget.tools will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site or any tool on it — including, without limitation, any loss or corruption of a file you process using a tool here. You use every tool on this site at your own risk, and we recommend keeping your own backup of any important file before converting, compressing, merging, or otherwise modifying it with one of our tools.

External links

The YouTube Thumbnail Downloader tool links to and requests images directly from YouTube; using it is also subject to YouTube's own terms of service. Where any other page links to an external site, that link is provided for convenience only, and we aren't responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of sites we don't control.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site changes — for example, if a new tool, an ad network, or an affiliate program is introduced. Material changes will be reflected in a new "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Severability

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of these terms remain in full effect. These terms don't designate a specific governing jurisdiction; where that matters for your own situation, please consult your own legal advice.
